Learning Technologies Leadership Institute

ACODE’s Learning Technologies Leadership Institute, ACODE Institute 2011, will be held from Sunday 21 to Thursday 25 August 2011 at Twin Towns Resort, Coolangatta.

The Institute is focused on meeting the leadership and management development needs of the next generation of leaders in tertiary education in relation to the use of technologies to support learning and teaching.

Institute participants will be involved in a practical professional development program designed support them in developing an understanding of effective leadership in the tertiary education context.  They will work with colleagues to gain an understanding of leadership skills and strategies, and to develop their own leadership potential in a collaborative and supportive environment and apply their knowledge and learning to case studies focused on approaches to leading the introduction and use of learning technologies in both New Zealand and Australian tertiary educational settings.

The Director of the Institute is Dr Tom Prebble, Professor Emeritus of Massey University, educational consultant and researcher, member of the Board of Ako Aotearoa and the Establishment Director for that organisation. He spent much of his career at Massey University, serving most recently as Professor of Higher Education and previously as Principal (Extramural and International), Director of Extramural Studies, and Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Educational Administration.

Tom has extensive experience of evaluation and quality assurance in education having served on the Committee on University Academic Programmes (CUAP), conducted numerous programme and process reviews, and currently serving as an Honorary Auditor for the Australian Universities Quality Agency.
